There are inherent traits, abilities, or qualities that a person might naturally lack, and no amount of external effort can fully instill them.

There are some characteristics—like talent, passion, drive, or innate intelligence—are gifts or natural endowments.

While people can grow and develop in many ways, certain foundational qualities must already exist within a person to be built upon.

This  is a reminder that we should  focus on nurturing and working with the innate strengths and potential someone already has, rather than trying to force something that isn’t naturally there.

It also emphasizes the importance of recognizing and accepting individual differences and limitations.

Here are some expressions related to the idea conveyed by “You can’t put into somebody what God left out”:
