The Semaj MindSpa — Where Mind, Spirit, and Science Meet

In just three weeks, I will be 75 years old.
That sentence carries both weight and wonder.
It is not just about having lived through seven decades –
It is about how I have lived, how I continue to live, and why I wake up every morning with excitement rather than exhaustion.

I did not simply arrive at 75 by accident or inertia. I am here because of intention, reflection, and evolution.

How I Got Here: The Roads Taken, The Lessons Learned

I came into this world with a hurricane – literally.
Born on August 17, during Hurricane Charley,
On the birthday of Marcus Garvey.
Those aren’t coincidences. They are callings.

I’ve walked many roads: academia, media, boardrooms, radio stations, and remote villages.
From dreadlocks in lecture halls to consulting in high-rise offices – my path has never been straight, but it has always been mine.

I’ve survived personal storms and cultural upheavals,
Held hands with grief and danced with joy.
But through it all, I have remained a student of life.

Staying Spiritually, Intellectually & Physically in Shape

Spiritually:
I ground myself in silence and reverence.
Not in dogma, but in awe.
Nature is my church. Stillness is my sanctuary.
I practice pronoia – the belief that the Universe is conspiring in my favour.

Intellectually:
I feed my mind daily.
I read. I write. I reflect.
I speak and listen with purpose.
Curiosity is my lifelong companion – there is always something new to learn, unlearn, and relearn.

Physically:
I walk 45 minutes in Zone 2, three times per week.
I lift weights heavy enough to silence doubt.
My body is not what it once was, but it is strong, reliable, and responsive – because I treat it as sacred.

This isn’t vanity. It’s vitality.
Longevity without quality is just survival.
But longevity with strength, clarity, and joy? That is living.

The Best Is Yet to Come

Yes, I believe it. I live it. I teach it.
Not as a slogan, but as a strategy.

Many fear aging. I embrace it.
Why? Because I know now what I could not have understood at 34 or even 54:
This stage of life is not the end of the road –
It is the harvest season.

I have nothing to prove, but everything to share.
My scars have become signatures.
My wrinkles are wisdom lines.
My voice is clearer. My spirit is lighter.
And my purpose? Sharpened.

I still dream. I still create.
I still imagine a better world and help others design it.
This is not retirement- this is reinvention.

Come with me.
Because The Best Is Yet to Come.
